Product Portfolio We are engaged in implementation and exporting of a wide range of Processing Plants. Our range comprises Solvent Extraction Plants, Vegetable Oil Refining Plants, Oil Milling Plants, Cattle Feed Plants, Hydrogenation Plants, Vanaspati / Hydrogenation Line and Food Processing Plant Equipment. These are highly efficient and can be custom built as per the specific requirements of clients. Our plants are suitable for extracting all kinds of oilseeds and for refining all kind of vegetable oils. |

A) What is Refining? The crude oil obtained either from expellers or solvent extraction plant contains impurities, which must be removed to make the oil edible, more palatable and stable against rancidity upon storage. The process of removing these impurities is called refining.
B) Impurities present in the oil: 1. Gums: Gums are phospholipids. There are two types of gums present, hydratable and non-hydratable. Hydratable gums are removed during degumming steps. 2. Hydrolysis Products Of Oils: Like Diglycerides and monoglycerides and free fatty acids. These are removed during neutralisation step. 3. Proteineous Matter, Carbohydrates, Resins: These are removed during neutralisation step. 4. Colouring Matter: Pigments such as chlorophyll (green colour) carotene (red colour), anthophyll (yellow colour) and gossypol (orange colour). These colour bodies which impart distinct colour to the oil are removed during neutralising and bleaching steps. 5. Odour-causing Chemicals: They are generally present in small quantities but their presence imparts strong, sometimes objectionable odour to the oil. These substances are volatile in nature and removed by deodorisation step. 6. Waxes: Some oils like sunflower contains appreciable amounts of waxes. Waxes are high melting esters of fatty alcohol with long chain fatty acids. These are removed by dewaxing step.
C) Refining Steps: 1. Degumming and Neutralization: 2. Bleaching as the name suggest is an operation to remove colouring matter present in the oil. 3. Deodorisation: Every vegetable oil has its own distinctive natural odour. During Neutralisation and Bleaching operation unpleasant odour is incorporated to the oil. It is therefore essential to remove this odour. The process is termed as Deodorisation.
D) Quality Control & Process Efficiency: The process offered by TROIKA is such that the final quality of refined oil is automatically attained with minimum human effort. Lowest refining losses, such as steam, power and water, lowest consumption of chemicals and minimum operating personnel are salient features of TROIKA refining plants. |

Oil milling is an art. Care has to be taken while expelling the oil to ensure maximum oil recovery with minimum power consumption; cake should not be burnt, protein should not be damaged, colour fixation of oil should not take place, minimum heat should be generated while expelling; moisture should not find its way with oil, filtration should be in such a manner that no cake particles remain in contact with oil, thus FFA of oil should not increase.
Seeds should be cooked properly and conveying should be provided to make operation totally mechanical. TROIKA design takes care of all this aspects, added is the decades of experience. Well-designed plant layouts, trouble free maintenance, ease of operation, low utility consumption makes TROIKA oil mill a viable proposition.
Oil milling (mechanical extraction) can be only prepressing in which case seeds are lightly pressed, and which leaves about 14% to 18% oil in the pressed cake. This method results in higher capacity; lower power consumption, lower wear & tear / maintenance. But it also lowers recovery of oil, it is recommended when the buyer has his own solvent extraction line, so that balance oil is recovered during solvent extraction process.
In the second method, when pressed cake is to be sold in the market, it is desirable to recover the maximum oil. Hence double pressing system is recommended. Here either in the same screw press – two stage pressing is carried out or prepressed cake from first stage screw press in sent for re – second pressing to other screw press. The oil left over after double pressing varies from 7% to 9% depending on the oil seed and extent of pressing.
Any oil-bearing seeds can be processed in an oil mill (mechanical extraction system), special preparatory equipment are recommended prior to expelling. For Cottonseed, Sunflower seed, Groundnut seed, decorticators are recommended. For copra shredders and for Palm kernel hammer mills are required as preparatory equipment.
Troika offers Oil Milling Plants right from 20 T / 24hrs capacity and are suitable for processing any kind of oilseeds.

CATTLE FEED LINE The process of cattle feed manufacture is comparatively simple process. The formulation of feed mixture that is selection of ingredients for the cattle feed is arrived by veterinary nutrition experts. In brief, various steps in the processing of cattle feed manufacture can be enumerated as follows (see flow sheet attached). a) Material receiving and proportioning, b) Material grinding, c) Mollassifying and mixing, d) Pelletising and cooling, e) Packing.
The plant capacities less than 200T of feed per 24 hours here simple, robust design is adopted. The plant can be operated by relatively less qualified operators. In large capacity plants automation & PLC system can be incorporated. |

Hydorgenation / Vanaspati plants are extension of hydrogenation plant. They are producing hydrogenated vegetable oils suitable for edible purpose in the form similar to balter / margarine / Vanaspati – a product similar to margarine, is very commonly used in Indian sub-continent as a cooking medium. Troika offer wide range of Vanaspati plants. |

Troika specializes in food processing equipment related to vegetable oilseeds i.e. cooking oils. |
